Jillian Rae Band

August 5 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

| $5

With Special Guest Brianna Lane

About Jillian Rae Band

Hailing from the song-rich soil of Minneapolis, Brianna Lane is the latest in a deluge of compelling songwriters flooding the region. Lane’s vocals are both confident and fragile, running parallels to Mindy Smith or a close confidant to Americana veteran Patty Griffin.

While Lane may be well known to many in the Midwest for her past albums and contributions to many projects, including for nationally touring songwriter Josh Harty, ex-locals Kevin Steinman, Eliza Blue, locals Jim Walsh, and Jeff Ray, and bike events with Ben Weaver. In her years of touring, Lane has shared the stage with Billy Bragg, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Colin Hay, Dar Williams, Patty Larkin, The Weepies, Jennifer Nettles (of Sugarland), and numerous other well seasoned musicians. She has also shared powerhouse, leg-powered bicycle tours with Signature Sounds’ artist Peter Mulvey.

Behind Lane’s beguiling smile lies a heart that has had its share of heartache where songs like “In My Bones” and “Company” draw their inspiration. Her stories oscillate between a sense of urgency and resolve while seeking a tranquil balance. Brianna Lane is proof that talent, ambition, and honesty still mean something in today’s hyper-stylized and manipulated musical landscape.

About Jillian Rae Band

Jillian Rae is a multi-talented violinist, lead vocalist, and songwriter whose creative and dynamic style of violin playing, along with her lifelong experience as a performer, lend her an assured stage presence. She has an innate ability to create hook-laden tunes affirming the positives of life in the face of struggle and disappointment.

Jillian has been a heavy hitter in the Minnesota music scene for years, playing with as many musicians as humanly possible. In the past, she had been known to lend her fiddle chops in the Duluth-based band Two Many Banjos, and also spent some time fronting the local pop country staple, The Killer Hayseeds. Currently, when she isn’t performing with her own band, you can still catch her playing fiddle and singing with a number of bands around town.
